Why do desktop YouTube downloaders trigger antivirus warnings?
Partly false positives - unsigned executables that spawn network processes look suspicious by design. Partly genuine, since the free ones are frequently funded by bundled adware in the installer. A web page cannot execute anything on your machine, so the question does not arise.
What plays the downloaded file on Windows?
Media Player on Windows 11 handles MP4 with H.264, and usually VP9 too. For AV1 you may need the free AV1 Video Extension from the Microsoft Store. VLC plays every format the tool produces with nothing extra installed, and is the simplest answer if you would rather not think about codecs.
Where does the file get saved?
To your browser's download folder, by default C:\Users\<you>\Downloads. You can change it in your browser settings, or enable "Ask where to save each file" to choose per download.
Can I download several videos at once?
Open the page in separate tabs and start each one - your browser will run them in parallel. Requests are limited to 10 per minute per IP address, so a handful at a time is fine but bulk queuing is not supported.
Which format works in Premiere Pro or DaVinci Resolve?
MP4 with H.264. Editors handle it natively, whereas VP9 and AV1 in WebM often import poorly or not at all. Take the highest resolution H.264 row the video offers.
Does this work on Windows 7 or 8?
It depends on the browser rather than Windows. Any browser still receiving updates will work; genuinely old versions of Internet Explorer will not, because the page relies on modern JavaScript.
